Wildlife Photography Workshop

  • WWT London Wetland Centre Queen Elizabeth Walk England, SW13 9WT United Kingdom (map)

Everyone has a camera or camera phone these days, and whether at home or off on a big trip, we love to take pictures of ourselves, landscapes, buildings and animals.

If you’d like to take better wildlife shots, this workshop led by professional wildlife photographer Nick Dale is perfect for you—and a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning!

Being at the London Wetland Centre means you’ll be surrounded by wonderful photo opportunities, including an otter feeding at 1100. Keeping the group numbers small ensures lots of one-to-one time with Nick, so whether it’s technical knowledge, familiarity with your equipment or rules of composition, he can answer all your questions.

Nick will start by giving an hour-long wildlife photography presentation in the café. You’ll then spend a couple of hours together taking pictures, and he’ll review your work and wrap everything up back in the café. There’s even a prize for whoever takes the best photo!

The workshop price includes a full day’s admission to the Wetlands Centre, so feel free to spend more time practising your new-found skills after the session is over.

Nick Dale is a professional wildlife photographer who’s taken pictures in 26 countries on all seven continents and won over 500 awards, including the Sunday Times/Audley Travel Big Shot.

The session was fantastic. Nick was very knowledgeable. He divided his time between us nicely. He challenged everyone to do things they hadn’t tried before. He did a really nice mop-up session, and all won prizes (SD cards). He explained a lot about why one image was better than another. We overran because we were having fun, but he checked no one needed to leave.

I think everyone learned something, and I believe everyone went home with some images she loved. I’d book to go back in July if that wasn’t weird!
